Ebooks and information products are becoming one of the most popular items to sell on eBay. After all you don't need to post anything, once the buyer has paid they are sent the link of where to download their file. There is no doubt that you do need somewhere online that you can put all your books so that your customers can go there and download them. Most new ebook sellers think that it's possible to just email the file to the customer each time they get a sale, but in reality this can cause a bad relationship with the buyer.

Sending them the ebook through your email account can cause a problem with bandwidth, and you will need to be online 24/7 to deliver the files since most buyers now expect to receive their digital product immediately.

Contrast this with providing a download location on purchase (handled by eBay through their digital delivery service) so the customer can get to their ebook immediately without you having to worry.

When you are just starting out, you can use the free webspace that is provided to you by your internet provider or alternatively there are many online free hosting services that will allow you to upload your files for free.

However once you start to become more profitable, it is a good idea to get your own website and domain name. Not only will it make you look more professional, it will allow you to start building a relationship with your buyers where you can send them newsletters and promotions that you might be running.

By having a website you can provide a much higher level of customer service which in turn will make it easier for your customers to buy from you and download their purchases. And because the process will be automated it also means that you can leave your house once in a while!
