Why do a no cost ebook?

Now the obvious reason is to get targeted visitors to your site. The less obvious reasons are:

1) A no cost ebook will increase your credibility.

If you have it filled with EXTREMELY valuable information which impresses the person downloading your ebook, they will think of you the next time they need more information.

2) A no cost ebook makes you an instant expert.

Yes, it's true. If you've written a stellar ebook, the perception they have of you is now you're the expert. And expert status is what you want to obtain!

Who should write a no cost ebook?

Quite frankly, anybody who has a business on the Internet. But the people who will benefit the most are writers, coaches, consultants and solo-preneurs who write the ebook specifically for their niche market.

In the ebook, you don't give away the farm meaning you don't tell them everything you know but you do give enough information to whet their appetite for more.

You then place this ebook on your site with a sign up box for their first name and email address. This enables you to build your list of interested (read that as targeted) readers.

Next, you have an autoresponder set up to keep in contact with them over the next 60 days. In the autoresponder, you have tips specific to your area of expertise.

The tips don't have to be long or involved. In fact, it's better if they aren't. Your readers are way too busy to go through a lengthy email.

What these tips do is put your name constantly in front of them so they become familiar with who you are and what you can do for them.

And that is the key -- what you can do for them!

Never ever forget the above when writing your no cost ebook or your tips. You are not going to convert your readers to your service or product if you don't think of their needs first.
